Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic Launches Primary Care Virtual Visits On-Demand

PHILADELPHIA — (October 20, 2020): Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic Medical Groups has launched a new way for the community to connect with an on-call provider for virtual urgent care visits. Staffed by providers from St. Mary Physicians Group, Mercy Physician Network and Nazareth Physician Services, the Virtual Visit service is a safe, HIPAA-compliant way to access care for minor ailments such as colds, rashes, urinary tract infections and pink eye, among others.

"This new, innovative and patient-focused service expands our community's access to the excellent care we deliver and offers an opportunity for us to engage people in a way that is convenient for them and improves satisfaction," said John Caruso, President, Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic Medical Groups.

For $50, residents of Pennsylvania* with minor ailments such as urinary tract infections or colds can access St. Mary, Mercy and Nazareth providers conveniently from home, office or wherever they are. All visitors need is a credit/debit card and a camera-enabled computer or tablet/iPad or smartphone. No additional software is needed as long as they have an audio device that can connect so they can see, hear and speak with a provider.

Visitors can access video visits through www.trinityhealthma.org/patients-visitors/virtual-visit/, click on Start A Virtual Visit With an On-Call Provider, create an account, answer a short assessment and start their video visit with our providers. Video visits are available between the hours of 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, or from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. Requests received after hours will be responded to the next business day.

Current patients of St. Mary Physicians Group, Mercy Physician Network and Nazareth Physician Services can contact their providers to schedule a virtual or in-person visit, using their insurance. Visitors will have to reach out to their insurers to see if they can be reimbursed for their visit.

*This service is not currently available to residents of New Jersey or Delaware due to regulations.
