Expanding Access to Thoracic Surgical Care at Nazareth Hospital

Northeast Philadelphia (May 21, 2019): Cardiothoracic surgeon Haji M. Shariff, MD, FACCP, has joined Nazareth Hospital and the Nazareth Hospital Medical Staff enabling greater access to high-quality lung surgical services for local communities.
Dr. Shariff brings a wealth of experience to the lung and cancer programs at Nazareth Hospital. He has long been a member of the Medical Staff at Mercy Fitzgerald and Mercy Philadelphia hospitals. Dr. Shariff received his medical degree at Osmania Medical College in India and completed two residencies: one in thoracic surgery at St. Elisabeth Health Center Youngstown in Ohio, and the other in pediatric cardiac surgery at Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia. He is a Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians and is board certified in general surgery, thoracic and cardiac surgery.
Dr. Shariff will continue to perform thoracic surgeries at Mercy Fitzgerald and Mercy Philadelphia hospitals. He will now also see patients in the Nazareth office on Tuesdays. Contact information for both offices includes:
