Directors Cup Golf Committee
Coordinates the “Directors Cup Challenge” held at The Union League Golf Club at Torresdale in Northeast Philadelphia. So goes the story, the Greater Northeast Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce was actually founded on the greens of the old course, which was designed by the legendary Donald James Ross of Scotland. A group of concerned businessmen from Frankford wanted a stronger voice in behalf of local commerce, and in 1922 they signed the charter creating the GNPCC. The committee organizes and promotes the event, solicits prize donations, sells tickets and identifies ways to make the annual outing fun and entertaining.
